Eater's Carolyn Alburger fished some hot news out of the toaster late yesterday: Bagelman Phillip Roland has cut ties with Terra, the Hayes Valley café that opened last month to cries of relief by local noshers, including SFoodie's own Jonathan Kauffman. Eater offered no explanation for the split (you recall Roland and partner Jennifer Westmoreland left Lower Haight earlier this year after landlord drama). Alburger IDs Boudin vet Francois Valle as replacement baker. Dang.

We should note that, when it opened, Terra maintained an unusual aura of secrecy for a new launch. It took a bit of e-mailing last month before we could even learn the name of the Terra partner in charge of the menu (that'd be Susan Lui). But that's all we got.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
