In yesterday's beer report on Social Kitchen & Brewery ― the Inner Sunset brewpub due to open Tuesday ― we said the menu would reflect a California take on French/Belgian cuisine à la bière. That's not a fancy way of saying greasy pub grub. It means that beer (and its components) becomes an ingredient for dishes that keenly pair with, yes, beer. In the past, we've seen Vietnamese-born chef Rob Lam infuse his menus with pan-Asian influences at Butterfly on Pier 33 and Eastside West in the Marina, but Social Kitchen finds him wading into new territory.

In a clean break from typical brewpubs, the offerings land squarely on the lighter, healthier side ― a third of the menu is vegan, another third vegetarian, with the rest for omnivores. The following menu (after the jump) is not complete, and there are no prices, but the listed items should alert the French and Belgians that their culinary technique has struck a chord:

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
