Ain't happenin' today: St. Louis ribs from last year's summer-long outdoor Town Hall BBQ.
Like
spring baseball, outdoor barbecue is sensitive to rain delays. Though
Town Hall had hoped to restart its weekday
al fresco barbecue today, the threat of rain killed the restaurant's plans. Town Hall's Colleen Booth says they'll try again tomorrow, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., in the plaza behind the restaurant. (Check Town Hall BBQ's
Twitter feed for the latest). For the first few days, Booth says, expect the basics: St. Louis ribs, fried chicken sandwich, and the sausage sandwich, made this year with house-made andouille in place of brought-in Calabrese. New(ish) Town Hall chef
Vernon Morales is said to have lots of new sandwich ideas for the out of doors.
Starting up tomorrow (probably):
Town Hall BBQ In the plaza behind 342 Howard (at Fremont), weekdays 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
