Masochistic chile-heads take note: On April 13, Slow Food San Francisco is kicking off a new series called ― rather unimaginatively ― Pantry Item Tastings. In this inaugural installment, the "item" at issue is the hot pepper. If you drown eggs in half-cups of Inner Beauty, but don't know know an ancho from an arbol, this tutorial might be helpful. It's going down at Charanga restaurant (home to new chefs David Leland and Valerie Hemstreet, according to Eater), where after the lesson, chefs will churn out a six-course tasting menu featuring the six chiles previously discussed.

Event details:

Where: Charanga, 2351 Mission (at 19th St.), 282-1813

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
