Holy mother of pig! We're well accustomed to seeing pork pop up at every cupcake battle, but a whole contest for bacon cupcakes? Hold on to your tails, oinkers, Iron Cupcake is going whole hog this month and they need competitors. Organizers are even trying to encourage vegans to enter with soy and other vegan bacon as their ingredient, but we're not sure that's enough to get them to this flesh fest.

Event details:
Iron Cupcake San Francisco: Bacon

Date: Mon., Mar. 29, 7 p.m.

Location: Leland Tea Company, 1416 Bush (at Polk)

Cost: $5 (includes one house tea and tasting of all cupcakes)

RSVP: On the official event page

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
