The Tacolicious relaunch of the Marina space formerly known as Laïola (2031 Chestnut at Fillmore) drops tonight, a bit sooner than expected. This week it's dinner only (5 p.m. to midnight), but the laidback taco and bar concept should be up to full speed next Monday, opening at 11:30 a.m. and staying that way till midnight. The basic menu offers half a dozen tacos, with soups, salads, and snacks and a daily special, like Monday's grilled ranchero steak, papas fritas, and poblano salsa. Also chupitos, aperitif-like shot-size versions of Tacolicious' bar creations, served up in multiples of four to encourage group slamming. Sweet. Check out the restaurant's bloggy Web site here.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
