January, and there's all kinda crap out there about weight loss, fitness -- it's enough to make you want to resist, with a Sam's Sundae and a couple of Camels.

Or instead of bulge-curbing strategies that call for tofu wraps and hefty servings of millet pilafs, consider smaller portions of full-fat food so satisfying you hardly miss the burgers and fries. Like the mushroom-Madeira soup from downtown takeout kiosk Carte415. It contains just enough cream to smooth out the big wallop of funghi flavor, and sure, you'll need to fill up on something else (the hummus with house-baked crackers, maybe).

But something tells us you'll walk away feeling absolutely gorgeous.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
