After moving back to the Bay Area from Los Angeles, Nina Wanat relaunched her confections company BonBonBar in October. Wanat is a graduate of CIA's baking and pastry program in Napa, a course she switched to after attending law school at UC Davis and being tempted into the culinary world via her adventures at the Davis Farmers Market. She also blogs about desserts on her own Sweet Napa blog.

Her handmade Pumpkin Pie Bar features a rich graham cracker "crust," spiced pumpkin caramel (made with pumpkin and butternut squash), and a jacket of dark chocolate. It has made us totally rethink the pumpkin and chocolate combination.

Find it and other delights from BonBonBar on its Web site or at the San Francisco Chocolate Factory (286 12th St. at Folsom). SFCF boutique manager Sabrina Aller, who turned us on to this treat, is also especially enthused about Wanat's bar with single malt scotch ganache and Maldon sea salt caramel.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
