You Want Cactus Fries With That? Mission Street Food to Remix McDonald's Classics

Posted By on Tue, Jun 23, 2009 at 9:51 AM

Mission Street Food becomes McMission for the night.
The menu at Mission Street Food is normally miles from McDonald's (even though the two are technically down the street from each other), but there will be some striking similarities as MSF becomes "McMission" this week. Food imagineers from Cal Academy of Science's The Moss Room (sous chef Ben Coe, kitchen manager Blake Kutner, and assistant pastry chef Angela Gong) will be remixing McDonald's items such as McNuggets, McRib, Big Mac, Filet O'Fish, and those addictive little fruit pies.

The San Francisco project of the Campaign for Better Nutrition will be the evening's charitable recipient. Keep the hot side hot and the cool side cool on Thursday, June 25, beginning at 6 p.m. at Lung Shan (2234 Mission at 18th St.). Cash only. Prepare for a wait or follow the chefs' real-time updates (if they aren't too busy to post) on their Twitter feed. Peruse the full menu after the jump.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
