Let's do lunch:

Why not show a little lunchtime solidarity with Sonia Sotomayor? Take SF Weekly food critic Meredith Brody's advice and seek out the Puerto Rican specialties mofongo and picadillo at El Nuevo Frutilandia (3077 24th St. at Folsom, 648-2958).

Drink therapy:

Grab a seat by the window and get all cruisy on the cheap: $3 happy hour beers at Harvey's (500 Castro at 18th St., 431-4278) 3-7 p.m.

It's cozy, there's a swank upstairs lounge, and a display case filled with owl tchotchkes. What could possibly make the Owl Tree (601 Post at Taylor, 359-1600) better? A buck off your beer during happy hour.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
