As part of its mission to unite the neighborhood around issues of art and food, Mission District nonprofit 18 Reasons hosts a weekly food and wine tasting called 18th Hour. This week's edition promises a cookbook swap, the idea being you're free to snap up as many gravy-spattered and gently dogeared volumes as you bring. The climax? A free-for-all blitz (any unwanted remainders will be donated to Community Thrift). Think of it as the perfect time to dump Emeril and find your new kitchen muse, one who isn't always yelling "Bam!". Tomorrow, May 28, 7-9 p.m. at 18 Reasons (593 Guerrero at 18th St.). Wine and snacks courtesy of your host, who's asking for a donation of $10 ($5 for 18 Reasons members).

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
