Our own photogenic, spiky-haired Elizabeth Falkner, of Citizen Cake and Orson fame, will take on the challenge of preparing a custom wedding cake to a genuine bride's specifications (and we all know how easy that can be) as she faces three other baker/bride teams on the Food Network's Battle of the Brides tonight, March 22, at 8 p.m.

For extra thrills, the pastry chefs and the blushing fiancees will have just met as the show begins. The winning chef gets $10,000 and bragging rights; the winning cake will be recreated for the forthcoming nuptials.

The show (catch a glimpse of it here) will be repeated tomorrow morning, the 23rd, at 3 a.m., and on Wednesday, March 25,  at 7 p.m. (Check your local listings, especially if you're the proud owner of a satellite feed!)

And, for lucky Bay Areans, Falkner promises a forthcoming screening of the show at Orson -- with, we're betting, samples of the confection she comes up with. As they say: stay tuned.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
