Snacktion: 18 Rabbits' Nibble a Sultana Granola Bar

Posted By on Mon, Mar 16, 2009 at 8:00 AM

Name: Nibble a Sultana

Brand: 18 Rabbits

Origin: San Francisco

Found at: Bi-Rite Market (3639 18th St.)

Cost: $2.99

Ingredients: Veritas granola (oats, unsweetened coconut, maple syrup, ground flax seed, sunflower or safflower oil, walnuts, Marshall's Farm honey, hazelnuts, pumpkin seeds, sesame seeds, Scharffen Berger cacao nibs), tapioca syrup, apricots, raisins and rice bran

Calories per serving: 220

Why I bought it: It's local and looked delicious.

Tasting notes: The texture is soft and nice, but the raisins (sultanas) are a bit too prominent, overpowering the flavors of the cacao nibs, hazelnuts, and pumpkin seeds.

Would I buy it again? Yes, but will probably choose one of the flavors without raisins, such as Cheeky Cherry Chocolate.

What other blogs/sites thought of it: The Oakland Tribune says, "When you're hungry, hunt down 18 Rabbits."

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
