Cacao nibs, the crushed innards of a roasted cocoa bean, have found an increasing place on chocolate shelves over the past few years. Not unlike snacking on crushed coffee beans, they can pack a bitter wallop that's an acquired taste (not to mention a caffeine-fueled zing). But Oakland's Cacao Dulce's new Chopita Rocks spiffs up nibs by pebbling them on 84% dark chocolate with a dash of peppermint oil (they also come in orange flavor). We found these at Faletti Foods (308 Broderick) for $4.99, and although the box is tiny (and these are delicious), it should last a while if you have a shred of willpower.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
