Drink of The Week: Nana Mae's Baba-Chai

Nana Mae's Organics of Sonoma has created a most unusual take on chai that has no tea whatsoever, only the spice blend associated with the traditional beverage. In place of the tea is a blend of apple and pear juice with honey and apple cider vinegar. Drinking vinegary beverages is often either a cultural or acquired taste, but apple cider vinegar has had its pro-health cheerleaders for decades and this is a great way to try it without enduring it straight. Nana Mae has made sure the balance between that acidic taste and the natural sweetness from the fruit is right. -- Tamara Palmer

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
