Tonight: World's Largest Ice Cream Social

Posted By on Thu, Sep 25, 2008 at 3:45 PM

Just overheard on Movin 99.7: Another awesome way to keep that sugar buzz rolling this evening is to get thee to a Coldstone Creamery (Union Square, Fisherman's Wharf, Tanforan Mall, Daly City), where the "World's Largest Ice Cream Social" of free ice cream will take place from 5-8 p.m. The event was conceived to draw awareness and raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and the two flavors served were imagineered by Wish children: Jack's Creation is marshmallow ice cream with Oreos, chocolate chips and fudge, while Emily's Creation is Nutter Butter ice cream with white chocolate chips, Kit Kat and yellow cake. (Wow, Emily is my kind of gal!) Find complete details at the Coldstone Creamery site. —Tamara Palmer

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
