This Sunday, May 18th marks the return of the Sommelier Supper at Bacar (448 Brannan at Fourth St.) in SoMa. Come chill with Wine Director Mickey Clevenger as he swings open his chest of fermented goodies, giving us mere mortals a behind-the-scenes look at the process of choosing and pairing new wines for the Bacar wine list. As you might have guessed, this involves a lot of tasting -- to the tune of about two dozen wines for sampling. Afterwards the whole shebang moves upstairs for a family-style dinner. This month's theme focuses on the Provence region of France, so don't forget to wear your beret! 7:00 p.m.; $75 per person. For reservations email dine@bacarsf.com or call 904-4100.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
