Tag, You're It: Library of Congress Meets Flickr

Posted By on Tue, Jan 22, 2008 at 9:00 AM

Ever since the Library of Congress joined Flickr last week, the photo floodgates have opened: the LoC has contributed about 1,600 images dating back to the mid-1800s. In effort to help categorize the photos -- many of which lack basic description -- the LoC is asking the great Flickring masses to add tags and other identifying information. A handful have already turned up with 'food' tags -- a fascinating glimpse into our American way of eating. (via Serious Eats)

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
