You may be asking yourself (but probably not): Where the hell do Rice Krispies get off monopolizing the market on cereal-based no-bake treats? Sure, Rice Krispie Treats are great, but why not Trix Treats or Froot Loops treats? Thankfully, somebody over at Cakespy went in search of answers and came back with some surprising results:

1. Corn Pops Treats taste damn good, winning points for childhood nostalgia and their "crisp yet airy texture."

2. Froot Loops Treats also scored high marks in the texture category, not to mention visual supremacy "like little marshmallowy rainbows."

3. Shredded Mini Wheats Treats, while not pretty, are tasty enough to make up for it.

Check out Cakespy for the full breakdown.

Board of Supes Vs. Starbucks, Redux: Back In The Richmond

Posted By on Fri, Jan 18, 2008 at 9:00 AM

Even a Board-of-Supervisors-sized smackdown last year hasn't stopped Starbucks from wiggling into the embattled Richmond District. The behemoth coffee slingers vied to open a new store at the corner of Fifth and Geary but thanks to newly-passed chain store regulations and a 4,000-strong petition against the proposal, the Board of Supes voted 9-1 against the shop.

But like a wounded animal clinging to life against the bigger, badder predator (McDonald's in this case), Eater SF reports that the chain:

"had the audacity to sneak a kiosk into the Safeway store at Cabrillo and Eighth. And without the proper permits, no less!"

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
