Is there a connection between tech-company logos and the occult? While we're leaning towards a big no, we'll still admit that the intertwining, conducted by the
San Francisco Institute of Possibility, between the logos of Twitter, AirBnB, Google, and LinkedIn with mystical elements (such as Tarot Cards) and divination (such as astrology) does make one ponder the
possibility of a link.
Done in four parts, they connected the logos with "hidden truths," based on basic elements such as typography and design elements of each logo. Such as with Google they note:
"Close examination shows, however, that the descending loop of the second, lower-case G has affinities with a number of centuries-old glyphs, dating back to the occultist and condemned heretic Giordano Bruno. The Catholic Church attempted to destroy all these glyphs when it burned Bruno’s books, and Bruno himself, at the stake in 1600."
This four-part series that analyzes tech logos is a portion of their larger look at the occult through art and performance: Fallen Cosmos. The event that accompanies this artistic endeavor, which from a vague description on the
Kickstarter page will incorporate elements of mysticism, is only open for those to attend if gifted a ticket from someone else. Interesting.
