If you were a fan of @HiddenCash — the
Twitter account of real estate investor Jason Buzi which would provide clues of where to find cash — then you may be up for playing a round of
Bink! Play the Change this Saturday.
The hunt starts in Union Square just after 12:30 p.m., and you'll have to download the Bink app to play (currently the app is only available for iOS, but Android will be released in about six weeks, according to co-founder Tom Speckman). Once the game begins, the app will display several clues (each leads to $100); the example on their site reads: "Challenge Clue: Can you find the love in this location? Two friends at the bottom of a pool with an enemy in the sky. Find the
love between two of them? Look closely. Be the 1st one to discover the location and the clue to unlock the reward." This clue is accompanied by an image, and a green-zone map, which lets you know you're in the right area and can start clicking on the answer.
Once you find the item mentioned in the clue, you'll have to scan it with your phone, and if you're correct — and the first one — you'll win $100. (They'll give you a code and a location to redeem it in order to claim the money.)
And if for some reason you miss out on grabbing the cash this weekend, they note this is just the first of numerous rounds of Bink! and have plans to give out $3000 in cash in 20 February events, according to Speckman. (Their site has a countdown until when each game begins.)
Also, according to
the event page, the winner can keep the cash, donate it to one of their NGO partners or both (why someone wouldn't do both is beyond us).
Good luck!
