In case you haven't had a JELL-O shot since you were yelling "Happy birthday to me, I'm 21!!!" you'll have a chance to take a jiggly sip before hitting the dance floor at "Hardly Strictly Hip-Hop," a benefit party for Cambodian youth impacted by HIV and AIDS.

The party will feature a little bit of everything: dance performances (Khmera Rouge and the Rice Rockettes, FourCorners, Urban Mirage) and a drag show, before unrolling into a night of dancing.

The team behind the party, Tasty HQ and Changing the Course, say there will be three DJs spinning music over the course of the night, and party-goers are encouraged to wear an outfit inspired from "the golden era of hip-hop" (think '80s-'90s). And just in case that isn't enough to overload the senses, you'll have a chance to win raffle prizes.

The party starts at 9 p.m. on Friday, January 23, at the Lookout (3600 16th St.); the entrance fee is a $10 suggested donation.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
