San Francisco Ranks Fifth Best City in America for Winter Travel

Listen up, San Francisco. It’s time to sit up straight, watch the language and put your best face forward because we’ve got company.

The folks over at finance site WalletHub named San Francisco the fifth best travel destination in America for winter getaways. Sure, it’s a few spots shy of number one but we're still wearing a light jacket while the majority of the country is in a deep freeze. So, we're winning on our book. Let's take a look at the cities that beat us:

Talking Tech with "Tech Boom!" Web Series Creator Jack Birmingham

Last week we shared the trailer for Tech Boom! a new comedic web series based around San Francisco's tech culture, and this week the series debuts its eight mini episodes (two minutes a piece!). To learn a little more about this mini tech series we talked with one of the show's creators Jack Birmingham (his co-creators are Loren Risker, who he says is "an editor/director who runs OutOfFocus.TV, an Oakland based, indie music TV channel" and Hector Escarramán, who is "a freelance cinematographer, photographer, writer and sometime muralist").

    Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
