Ramen shops, Karaoke Bars, the Daiso Store. Need another reason to visit Japantown? On October 5, a Sumo Wrestling Exhibition will be held in Japantown's Peace Plaza.
The free event will feature three world class Sumo wrestlers: Yama, who at 600 pounds is the world's heaviest Japanese human, Byama, a three time World Sumo Champion from Mongolia, and Kelly, who, at 430 pounds, is the heaviest person to ever run a marathon. These wrestlers will compete in three matches, at noon, 2 p.m., and 4 p.m.

Those in attendance will have the chance to meet these Sumo heroes — a kids' meet and greet will be held prior to the event (11 a.m.), and another will held for adults, post-battle (5 p.m.).

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
