Graffiti Art Map Gets an App

There really is an app for everything, and street art is no exception.

If you're unfamiliar with the street-art site Graffmap, it allows users to upload images of graffiti pieces along with the location, and an option to like or dislike the image. Most of what we've seen are intricate pieces on walls of tunnels, warehouses, and brick buildings in Canada and France. But now the site wants to move towards your palm, allowing users to see exactly where they are in relationship to these pieces.

Still in the Kickstarter phase, the app would allow users to track down the location of piece they've admired online -- no more wandering around trying to figure out exactly where that Banksy piece is. Just one hinge, if they want us to use it, they better get more Bay Area artists on there.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
