There's nothing like a random act of kindness -- whether a stranger holds the door open for you when you're leaving a building, or say, someone sends you flowers, a kind gesture can go a long way. So if you're feeling inspired to make someone's day, then this free flower delivery is for you.
KIND granola bars and the Bicycle Film Festival have partnered up to deliver free flowers and messages of kindness in several cities around the U.S. Currently, they're delivering flowers to people in Austin, Texas, but we're next!
Starting April 17, San Francisco residents can sign up to have flowers bike-delivered for free to a San Francisco-based friend, significant other, co-worker, family member, mailman, etc. with a personalized message. The deliveries will start on April 21 and run through April 24, which is also the last day to place an order.
When participants sign up to have their flowers sent to someone, they can pick a delivery day between April 21-24 and a drop-off time. As specified on the delivery website, if the recipient of your flowers doesn't come to the door, the deliverers will leave behind KIND granola bars and deliver the flowers to a nursing home instead.
This delivery is part of the KIND granola bar's Kind Movement, which encourages people to perform -- you guessed it -- acts of kindness in their community. Their website tracks how many acts of kindness have been done under the Kind Movement (at the time of writing, there have been 522, 911 acts) and how many people have been impacted (850,000).
KIND is working in partnership on San Francisco's random-acts-of-kindness with the Bicycle Film Festival, which is a celebration of everything bike related. The festival features arts, music, and of course film, and is stopping in San Francisco April 25-26.
Go to the delivery website on April 17 to perform your random act of kindness. Also, if you receive bike-delivered flowers, you can take a picture and post it on Instagram or Twitter with the tag #kindawesome, and it might end up on KIND's blog.
