Need a romantic getaway this weekend where you're almost guaranteed to get some action? We got you covered.
If this season of the Real World were to be represented as a calendar day, we would be in the gloaming: That magical time just before the sun sinks down into the sky completely. The same can be said for the entire run of this show. If MTV renews yet another season of this tripe, Viacom needs to create an Obamacare Death Panel and take some executives out. The other option -- and I know this is a stretch -- is to go back to the old formula of picking interesting people and following their interactions with one another and the world. Just an idea.
Anywho, this week Arielle's passion for film directing was finally given some camera time (no pun intended). When I met her at the Real World house, this was the first thing she wanted to talk about. It's her goal in life to be Oakland's answer to Dario Argento or Wes Craven. It's hard to tell from what little footage they showed whether or not she is any good at it. I also would have loved to see a simulation of some of her roommates being eviscerated, Jay and Cory especially. Sadly, no.
There's a new NBC show filming a pilot in San Francisco (and Vallejo), and they need extras!
If you're up to date on your Scandinavian television shows, you'll likely be familiar with the plot, as it's based on Exposed. Project casting describes the series as a drama that "follows an investigative journalist (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) who will stop at nothing to uncover the truth -- including making questionable alliances." Scandalous.

Shannon Bowen is a screenwriter inspired to write strong female characters who (shockingly) have loyal lady friends, because she has been lucky enough to be surrounded by badass women all of her life. You can watch the first two episodes of her web series Cost of Living (about struggling to afford a city that no one can afford) and join the Kickstarter to help film the remaining episodes. She is the co-author of two feature-length scripts, and she analyzes "Downton Abbey" from a funny, feminist, foul-mouthed perspective on her podcast Downton Gabby. When people ask what do you do, you tell them... ?
I write a fictionalized version of the truth. There are real stories from my life incorporated into each script that I write. Yes, I did accidentally throw away all of my clothes in a dumpster once.
What's your biggest struggle -- work or otherwise?
Balance. Time. Not freaking out about my horoscope.
