Apparently true love isn't just one mouse click away for the women of San Francisco.
It's more like a minimum 9,643 clicks away, because that's one number higher than the amount of online date offers women in San Francisco rejected in 2013.
As a result, the gals of San Francisco now have the distinction as the pickiest online daters in America according to the folks at WhatsYourPrice.com -- aka the world's first dating auction site.
We suppose it's not the worst title to have. It just means our ladies of the Bay Area have high standards and the fellas with no game are nowhere near figuring out what the heck it is that women want.
It's the age-old story of the sexes, except this time there's a price tag. Keep in mind that we don't encourage encourage gold diggers, most of the time, but there is a still-in-recovery weak economy, so it's interesting to consider the following:
Not to pressure anyone and we certainly champion a women's right to shoes -- we mean choose, a woman's right to choose -- but those 9,642 rejected dates amount to a loss of $1,452,823 in potential revenue and unclaimed offers. Basically, the cost of saying no to a first date in San Francisco is $150.68.
That figure balloons to $75 million nationally in rejected date offers with San Francisco, Las Vegas, Chicago, New York CIty and Los Angeles leading the way in this latest gender studies footnote.
So what's up? Are the offers just not good enough? Just last month a "study" revealed that San Francisco women will choose anything from a shopping spree to a full tank of gas as incentives for a first date.
Something's off here, but what's clear is that women have America's economy by the balls. It's up to you, ladies, to say yes to that date to the Olive Garden. Or you could just disregard all the above because it's sexist propaganda anyway. But in the meantime, you've got mail.
