The holidays are upon us (We're basing this on Safeway breaking out the Christmas decorations five minutes after Halloween), which means we can finally listen to Mariah Carey's holiday album un-ironically and that we once more have an excuse to pour eggnog on everything -- Hello, huevos nog-cheros! Adding to our festive spirits this Friday is the SPCA's Pet Adoption Holiday Windows Unveiling at Macy's, featuring adorable and adoptable puppies and kitties to melt our hearts this winter.

Last year's event raised $80,000 and found 325 animals homes, and temporarily absolved Macy's of its consumer foibles (including the terrible techno it plays on weekends at the makeup department). This year's event also features former Mayor Willie Brown and 49er Running Back LaMichael James.

If seeing Santa Paws doesn't turn you to mush, the S.F. Ballet and Westfield Centre just might Nov. 15 with its dance demo and 3D light show, Illuminique Under the Dome. S.F. Ballet's Nutcracker Snowflakes promise to teach kids fancy footwork in a special demonstration and hand out tutus to the first 100 aspiring dancers under eight. Go on, get wrapped up in holiday cheer with these free, family-friendly events.

SPCA's Pet Adoption Holiday Windows Unveiling starts Friday, Nov. 16 at 5 p.m. at Macy's, 170 O'Farrell (at Powell). Illuminique Under the Dome starts Nov. 15 at 4:30 p.m. (and runs through Dec. 31) at the Westfield San Francisco Centre, 865 Market (at Fifth St.), S.F. Admission to both is free.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
