I have a soft spot for furry four-legged creatures, and so does the city of San Francisco. From our plentiful dog parks to the pooches you see in tow with their owners as they cruise our sidewalks, dogs are a big part of this city. San Francisco Giants pitcher Tim Lincecum has a similar fondness for cuddly canines. Lincecum, as part of the popchips game changer program, is helping local charity Muttville Senior Dog Rescue during tomorrow's Giants game.

From the press release:

"Muttville asked Tim to help one long-haired unwanted mixed breed dog get adopted by taking him onto the field before first pitch and helping raise awareness for the dog (coincidentally named Timmy) and the organization. On Sunday, July 1st, prior to game start, Tim and Timmy the dog will take to the field with the high hopes of building awareness for this very important local cause and finding a home for this very special dog..."

Animals are vulnerable and really need our help. Most people only want to adopt a puppy, or a dog that is relatively young. If you are a fan of baseball and pooches, come to the Giants game earlier than usual tomorrow and help this old dog find a new home. Good luck to Timmy the pooch, may someone who will love him very much take him home.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
