Moshe Kasher Is Crazy Funny ... um, Literally

Jonathan Kiefer Apr 2, 2012 10:30 AM

Our hero, Moshe Kasher
Consider how much mileage Moshe Kasher gets from just the title of his new memoir. It's called Kasher in the Rye: The True Tale of a White Boy from Oakland Who Became a Drug Addict, Criminal, Mental Patient, and Then Turned 16.

Lots, right? And on multiple levels.

In addition to affirming the finely honed hilarity that has characterized Kasher's stand-up comedy, that title also reminds us there are things about him we hadn't known. (The whiteness notwithstanding.) On stage and in the occasional video, he's insane. On the web, he's infinitely rewteetable -- the risk of offended unfollowers be damned. Lucky for us, he charms us Tuesday night with his good looks and fabulous sense of humor at the Jewish Community Center of San Francisco.
