Teatro Zinzanni, the nonprofit arts organization masquerading frequently as a circus-like dinner theater extraordinaire, will go dark on Pier 29 after New Years Eve 2011 and emerge in a new permanent Embarcadero location in late 2012, it was announced today.

The move, which brings to a close an 11-year stint on the pier, will help make way for the buildout and lead-up to the 2013 America's Cup sailing finals. The new big top will go up at the intersection of Broadway, Davis, and Embarcadero streets. In a plot closely mirroring Teatro's recent uncertainties, the company's current show, On the Air, depicts a small radio station struggling for survival. But by partnering with the city on this relocation, Teatro's story has a happy ending and a promising new beginning ahead.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
