Fresh off my "Special Report" of possible transphobia in The Hangover 2, I was ready for my next adventure. Who would have known it would be another film with a trans subtext? Two in one week -- what is this world coming to?

Saturday night I headed off to see Sleepaway Camp at Midnight Mass with Peaches Christ. Peaches, being a lover of classic cult movies,(all the better if they include gore, and no, not Al Gore) had been trying to screen this movie since Midnight Mass started years ago at the Bridge. Unfortunately, it seems the movie is hard to find. But for this event, one of Peaches' fans with a copy was flown in from Texas just for this screening. Peaches was so kind. She put him right to work, hawking her wares in the lobby and then trying to pimp him out onstage, to his mortification. She really wanted him to have the true Midnight Mass experience!

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
