Selene Luna Posts Episode 2 of Series About Lives of Misfits in Show Business

Posted on Tue, Mar 1, 2011 at 1:00 PM

Selene Luna -- who might be San Francisco's favorite Angeleno comedian and performer -- posted the second episode of her video project today. Selene's Hollywood Confidential is an online soap opera about the daily lives of Luna and her self-proclaimed misfit showbiz friends. Its first episode went live Feb. 22.

Luna was raised in Southern California but maintains strong connection to San Francisco. She's a friend of Margaret Cho and a favorite of the city's gay community.

Luna writes on her blog she's had the idea for the series a long time but couldn't persuade TV brass to put up the money to produce it. So she went to Kickstarter to raise the cash.

We eagerly await Luna's next San Francisco performance.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
