James Deen's Porn Company Fined For Not Using Condoms

Posted By on Thu, Mar 10, 2016 at 1:30 PM

The adult film company of James Deen — the porn star ex of fame, let loose from the Mission District fetish empire's stable of studs last year after allegations of rape from his former partner and other co-stars — has been slapped with a hefty fine for disobeying state safety regulations.

That is: Third Rock Enterprises, Deen's company, faces fines of up to $77,785 for not using condoms on set, according to TheWrap.

You may recall the efforts of the Aids Healthcare Foundation to put California's porn performers in all kinds of protective clothing: dental dams, goggles, gloves, and other latex layers that, porn stars say, are unnecessary and would drive the adult film business to other wilder states in the west.

Recently, Cal/OSHA's board voted against requiring that kind of gear, but the same agency also found that Deen's company "failed" to vaccinate employees properly, according to reports.

In Addition to Sex Access, S.F. Middle School Kids Now Have Condom Access; Parents Freak

San Francisco public school officials made a choice this week that they will not soon forget. Mostly because they will be hearing about it, reading about it, and living it for the rest of their lives. You’d think they might have gotten pregnant.

Instead, they are trying to prevent our city's adolescents and preteens from doing just that, and other unsavory, sexy stuff. And they seem to have no clue just how many worms are in the can they opened. Hint: So many that it’s a mystery how they all fit in there to begin with.

When the city's school board on Tuesday night unanimously endorsed the giving out of condoms to middle school students — without parental knowledge, mind you — they must have known what they were doing. (Free condoms have been plentiful and freely available in high schools for decades.) There must be a reason for this, besides just pissing off a bunch of parents.

California Porn Saved From Condoms, Goggles, Dental Dams

When was the last time you saw a dental dam, outside of health class or a visit to the dentist? Be honest. It wasn't in an adult film — and the latex films won't be in an adult film in the future, either.

Yes, California's robust adult film industry will remain safely latex free, after a move to mandate the use of condoms, dental dams, gloves, and — yes, and — goggles was shot down on Thursday by state labor regulators, as the Guardian reports.

Spearheading the condom movement was the AIDS Healthcare Foundation (as in the same crew behind the Out of the Closet thrift stores, your former favorite bargain clothing outlet).

And in the bareback corner, lobbying the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health (Cal/OSHA): a bevy of your favorite porn stars, including SF Weekly columnist Siouxise Q. Go Siouxsie!

If You Hate Valentine's Day But Love BDSM, Here's an Event For You

Posted By on Thu, Feb 12, 2015 at 11:32 AM

Forget about Valentine's Day. Mark Feb. 19 in your calendar. It's important, especially if you're one of those who's more likely to get off from whips and ball gags than a box of milk chocolates.

Starting Thursday, Kink University will host a four-day symposium, teaching the curious-minded about all things fetish. Specifically, the classes will teach you the techniques of the various BDSM scenes shown in 50 Shades of Grey, the highly anticipated kink flick that will be out in theaters next week. Dubbed" The 50 Skills of Grey," the live classes will give you hands-on training in basic bondage, spanking, caning, tying, orgasm control, etc. They'll even teach you about designing your own red room of pain!

Exotic Dancers Host Annual Toy Drive for Kids in Need

Posted By on Mon, Nov 17, 2014 at 1:02 PM

The days are shorter, the wind is nippier, the reindeer and Christmas lights are popping up in window displays along Powell Street.

And over at the Penthouse Club in North Beach, a small chorus line of exotic dancers are preparing for their annual toy drive and fundraiser for San Francisco Fire Fighters Local 798, set for Friday, November 21 from 8-10 p.m. Penthouse Pet Layla Sin says she's thrilled to host.

The Penthouse Toy Drive is as much a San Francisco tradition as the ice skating rink or tree-lighting ceremonies in Union Square, and in the course of a decade, it's purportedly netted more than $250,000 for children in need.

Kinky Haunted House to Pleasure San Francisco Thrill-Seekers

Posted By on Fri, Oct 10, 2014 at 1:32 PM

When you really think about it, Halloween and BDSM aren't that much different: There's plenty of role-playing, lots of thrill-seeking, and, to the prudish folks out there, both might resemble a scene from a horror movie (when the lights are turned on).

Still, if you prefer ball gags to creepy clowns, this Halloween event just might be made for you and yours., the popular San Francisco-based porn studio, is hosting its very first erotic haunted house in the spirit of sex and all things spine-chilling (including sex) this Halloween. An erotic haunted house is precisely what it sounds like a celebration of "Halloween and things that go bump in the night."

Yes, We Have Suggestive Images of the Castro Hot Cop Drenched in Cold Water

Posted By on Tue, Aug 19, 2014 at 12:24 PM

We can't make up for the fact while Paul McCartney rocked it at Candlestick Park, you were stuck in traffic and missed the show. And we certainly won't be able to help you get a refund on those concert tickets. The best we could do at this point (and it has nothing to do with Paul McCartney, sorry) is show you some images of the Hot Cop of the Castro getting wet at a San Francisco gay bar.

San Francisco's "Hot Cop" Chris Kohrs has finally decided to give his Castro fans a show, albeit it's probably not exactly the kind of show they've been hoping for.

It does, however, include ice, a gay bar, and based on this accompanying image, his bare chest.

Next Monday, San Francisco's most wanted cop will be at the Cafe to take on the Ice Bucket Challenge, raising awareness for ALS while also raising money for families of officers who've been killed while in the line of duty.

So much for technology ruining relationships and driving people apart.

The Palo Alto Good Vibrations hosted an in-store product launch for the latest fruit of the Sexual Revolution, OhMiBod’s blueMotion vibrator, involving the company’s co-founder, Brian Dunham, and none other than Good Vibrations’ resident sexologist, the inimitable Dr. Carol Queen.

In case you weren’t able to zip down to Palo Alto, here’s the rundown: blueMotion is a wearable vibrator that’s controlled by smartphone (including voice control), and the latest in a long line of high-tech pleasure products that began with 2006’s iPod vibrator. With blueMotion, you may stimulate your partner while you’re across the world or in the next room, which adds a warm human element to what is currently a mechanistic way to get off.

Bang with Friends Attracts Investors, Yet It's Still Easier to Text Someone for a Booty Call

Posted By on Mon, Apr 29, 2013 at 2:30 PM

Bang With Friends, the prurient web application that allows you to click on Facebook friends and invite them for a roll in the hay, has evidently raised $1 million in its first round of venture funding. Yep, you read that right -- $1 million for an app that was created by three (probably) drunk tech/bros in a single evening, which is as much as you need to know about the production values.

Needless to say, it doesn't exactly work.

I tried test-running the app this Saturday in a controlled setting -- controlled, meaning

myself and another journalist sat side-by-side on a couch, equipped with identical MacBooks, attempting to get the app to get us to bang each each (who said being a newspaper reporter was the worst job in America?)

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
