Beginning July 31, Muni’s subway system between West Portal and the Embarcadero will shut down every night at 10 p.m. so the city can replace outdated radio systems and blue light emergency phones. The $95 million upgrade is slated to last six months, according to SFBay.

How will this affect your commute?

Shuttle buses will run from the Embarcadero to St. Francis Circle during the shutdown. Riders downtown can catch a shuttle on the island boarding zone of the F-Market/Wharves line for either inbound or outbound service. Riders in the West Portal looking to get downtown will need to board a bus at St. Francis Circle. As SFBay reports, St. Francis Circle will also be a transfer point for riders seeking to continue their outbound trip on either the K-Ingleside, L-Taraval, or M-Ocean View.

Here’s the complete list of transit changes from the SFMTA:

  • The inbound J Church will end at Church and Market. Customers can transfer to bus shuttle at F streetcar stops on Market Street.
  • The inbound N Judah will switch back at Church & Duboce. Customers getting off the train can walk one block to Market Street to board shuttle bus to downtown.
  • The inbound K Ingleside will end at St. Francis Circle. Customers can transfer to a bus to travel to downtown.
  • The inbound M Ocean View from Balboa Park will travel through St. Francis Circle and become the outbound L Taraval to serve the L line stops beyond West Portal. Inbound L trains from the Zoo will turn into the outbound M line at West Portal.
  • The T Third Street will switch back at Embarcadero Station except the periods between Aug. 17-Aug. 24 and between Aug. 31-Sept. 10 when work will take place at Embarcadero. During these periods, the T trains will end at Folsom Street. Bus shuttle service will be extended to Folsom Street.
  • Bus shuttle frequency: approximately every 8 minutes.

The SFMTA also advises riders that the 10 p.m. shutdown time isn’t guaranteed — service could end as early as 9:30 along some stops. So, you know, business as usual.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
