Man Shot to Death in SoMa

Posted By on Wed, Jul 23, 2014 at 8:07 AM

An unidentified man was gunned down late last night in the city's SoMa neighborhood — the fourth homicide this week.

Sgt. Danielle Newman says that a witness who heard gunfire flagged down a patrol unit in the area of Sixth and Mission streets at about 11:07 p.m. A second police unit arrived and found a man with gunshot wounds on the 100 block of Mission Street.

He was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital where he later died.Homicide investigators returned to the scene last night where they spend the night combing the area for evidence. No suspect has been identified as of this morning.

It was the second man who was shot yesterday on the same block. On Tuesday morning, 18-year-old Daniel Baltran was shot to death at the Henry Hotel on Mission Street; 18 hours later, police returned to the same block to investigate this latest homicide.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
