Lest you have any doubt about Silicon Valley's influence over future political campaigns, consider Hillary Clinton's itinerary as she graces the Bay Area's tech beltway for the second time this summer.
According to Twitter's blog post about the event, the former Secretary of State will discuss her tenure in the White House, and how it informed her views on "human rights, domestic policy, and other topics.Clinton, who began cultivating her social media persona by palling around with Katy Perry, lightly gibing at Fox News, and tweeting 140-character campaign jingles, has yet to say whether she'll make another presidential bid in two years.
She's already stirred chatter among political watchdogs, who wonder if a renewed Clinton run might mean cabinet positions for University of California President Janet Napolitano, and former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, who now teaches at UC Berkeley. Clinton already leads in Democratic polls, and she's clearly courting tech constituents -- either for votes, or cachet. Twitter will stream her appearance live today at 5:20 p.m., from a tweet pinned at the top of her page. You can ask questions using hashtag #AskHillary.
