An unidentified man was killed late last night in the city's Mission District -- the neighborhood's second homicide in less than a week.

Officer Albie Esparza says that at about 9:49 p.m. police were called out to the 2900 block of 16th Street where they found an unresponsive man. Medics arrived and pronounced the man dead.

Esparza says police have declared it a homicide, however they've not released the cause of death at this time.

The Medical Examiner's Office is not releasing the victim's name at this time.
