All that commotion down in the Mission last night was just the cops trying to talk down a robbery suspect who had barricaded himself inside an apartment building.

Officer Albie Esparza says that just before 5 p.m. a man had robbed a person at gunpoint in the Mission District then ran inside a home at in the area of 23rd and Shotwell streets and locked himself inside.

The SWAT team arrived to the scene attempting to negotiate with the armed man for several hours, while closing the streets to traffic.

Fortunately, no shots were fired during this scene, and police were able to cajole the suspect down by about 8:30 p.m. He was taken into custody and everyone in the neighborhood went back to normal life.

The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
