A 21-year-old man is recovering this morning after he was stabbed in the stomach while walking through the city's Tenderloin neighborhood yesterday afternoon.

According to Officer Gordon Shyy. the victim was walking along Golden Gate Avenue and Jones Street at about 3 p.m. carrying a wad of cash in his hand.

Enter the robber.

Shyy says the robber -- a white man in his 30s -- walked by the victim and snatched the cash out his hand, as if he was his own personal ATM machine. The robber then stabbed the man in the stomach before bolting the scene.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where he is being treated for a non life-threatening stab wound.

The unidentified robber is still on the lam-- so hold onto your cash, people.
