Amy and Celeste Moreno Identified as Mother, Daughter in Murder-Suicide

Medical authorities this morning identified the mother and daughter who died in an apparent murder-suicide Monday night as 60-year-old Celeste Moreno and 93-year-old Amy Moreno.

According to police, Celeste went to visit her mother at the Central Gardens Skilled Nursing Facility, located at 1355 Ellis St., at about 5:30 p.m. on Monday, After two hours, the staff went into Amy's room and found both women dead from gunshot wounds.

Police say the door had been shut and nobody at the nursing home heard or noticed anything amiss.
