Well, this just proves drugs can make you dumber.
Police recently nabbed a burglar in the Outer Sunset who blamed illegal antics on his illegal drug use.
According to police, a woman was out walking her dog at about 5:50 a.m. when she came across a man in his 20s who asked her if she knew where San Jose was, among other weird questions. "Do you have a CD?" he asked her.
Assuming he was under the influence of something, she got the hell out of there, according to police reports.
On her way home, she looked around to make sure he wasn't following her. When she got to her front door, on the 700 block of the Great Highway, the suspect reappeared, cutting her off from her door.
As he stood between the woman and her front door, his line of questioning became creepier; he asked if he could stay at her house for the night. After declining his request, she was able to slip past him and get into her house. When she started to close the door, he pushed it from the outside, and after several minutes of struggling with the man, she slammed the door, locked it, and called 911.
When police arrived, they found the suspect in her apartment building. But he didn't bother to cover up his actions. Instead, he fessed up to police that after a long night of doing drugs, he was exhausted and simply looking for a place to crash for the night.
The cops were nice enough to offer him a cozy bed in jail.
