  • Thieves love Black Friday just as much as you do.

Maybe you don't love the holidays, but you know who does? Thieves. There's just so much new stuff stuff to steal.

Under the cover of holiday chaos, pick pockets swipe and shoplifters boost. Thieves are strolling the streets (right now!) looking in car windows longing for your holiday gifts and turkey fixings.

The cops will be out in force, patrolling the shopping districts to ensure there's nonstop merriment, but they can't do it all alone. So here's a few holiday tips to keep you and your loot safe:

• Remain alert when using electronic devices

• Help avoid vehicle break-ins and leave nothing visible in your car.

• Move your vehicle to a different location each time you load packages

• Try to park in a lot where there is an attendant (if you can afford it)

• Always be alert to your surroundings (refer to rule no. 1 above)

• Have your keys in your hand as you approach your vehicle

• Do not overburden yourself with packages and other items.

• Keep packages locked in your trunk while shopping.

• Shop with a companion, especially after dark, whenever possible.

• Keep wallets in hard-to-reach places (front pocket is a good one)

• Be wary of anyone causing a distraction in close-quartered places, such as on

public transit

• Carry only the cash and credit cards that you will need

• Keep cash separate from ID and credit cards

• Do not carry your passport or social security card.

• If someone demands your purse or wallet, surrender it immediately or else you could get hurt

And now for our personal safety tip: Don't punch, beat, slap, curse, or spit on other consumers vying for the safe gift.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
