Man, Woman Critically Injured in Golden Gate Park Stabbing, Suspects on the Loose (Update)

Update 10 a.m.: Officer Gordon Shyy says the 26-year-old male victim has been discharged, and the female victim, who is 23, will be discharged from the hospital later today.

Original Story 7:19 a.m.Two people are clinging to life this morning after being stabbed overnight in Golden Gate Park.

Office Gordon Shyy says police were called to Alvord Lake in Golden Gate Park at about 2:30 a.m. where they found two victims -- a woman in her 40s and a man in his 20s or 30s -- with stab wounds.

Both victims were taken to San Francisco General Hospital with life-threatening injuries. The female victim was stabbed in the chest and the male had been stabbed in the stomach, according to police.

"The suspects are outstanding at this point," Shyy said . "Suspect one [is] described as [a] heavyset black male with dreadlocks. Suspect two [is] described as black male wearing a white-hooded sweatshirt. They fled in a maroon vehicle, last seen northbound Stanyon."
