Every American has their own special Fourth of July traditions -- watching fireworks, milling around parades, eating American Flag cake, masturbating at the park.

Authorities reportedly charged 51-year-old Clark Duncan McElfresh after he allegedly celebrated America's Birthday by playing with himself in a Palo Alto Park. According to police, McElfresh was arrested at about 7:45 p.m. on Thursday night -- just as the fireworks starting booming -- after a family of four witnessed him riding his bike and pleasuring himself.

A couple told police they were in their car with their kids, both of whom were younger than 5 years old, and were about to park when they saw the suspect masturbating while casually pedaling back and forth on his bike in the 3100 block of Stockton Place.

Officers responded to the scene and nabbed McElfresh, who matched the couple's description the masturbating man, police said. The Santa Clara County District Attorney's Office charged him today with misdemeanor indecent exposure.

No word on whether he was wearing a helmet.
