A man is in critical condition this morning after he was brutally beaten and robbed in the Tenderloin last night.
According to police, the man was at the United Nations Plaza at about 7:42 p.m. when three men attacked. Witnesses told police that the first man punched the victim in the head, knocking him unconscious.
A second man then dragged the victim into the street, and a third man rifled through the victim's pockets, said Officer Gordon Shyy.
The victim, only described as a man between the ages of 40 and 45, was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with a life-threatening head injury.
"It appears it was a robbery or attempted robbery," Shyy said. "We're not sure what is missing from the victim's property."
