Melissa Kitson Killed While Walking Through SOMA

Medical authorities identified the pedestrian who was killed in a traffic accident in SOMA on Friday night as 44-year-old Melissa Kitson.

Police say Kitson, a San Lorenzo resident, was at Howard and Seventh streets during the rush hour commute when she was hit by two cars. She died instantly.

Both drivers remained at the scene and cooperated with police as they investigated the accident.

According to the Chronicle, Kitson worked as an accountant for the Red Bricks Media advertising agency and could have been on her way home at the time of the accident.
