Montreal Blakely Identified as Teen Murdered This Weekend in Bayview, Homicide No. 65 (Update)

Update 9:46 a.m. Medical authorities have identified the victim as 17-year-old Montreal Blakely.

Original story 7:47 a.m.:
Medical authorities have identified the man who was gunned down Saturday night, but would not release his name until his family is notified.

What we can tell you is that an 17-year-old man was shot at least once in the head while standing on the block of Osceola Lane at about 10 p.m. on Saturday.

According to new reports, the man's friend rushed him to San Francisco General Hospital, where he later died; police got word of the shooting after the man was taken to the hospital.

The shooting was the city's 65th homicide this year. On Dec. 7, 35-year-old Antione Murray was shot to death in the city's Visitacion Valley neighborhood.
