Facebook's own security guard and a cohort were "checked in" to jail after the pair allegedly broke into the social-networking site's former headquarters and made off with dozens of company laptops.

According to press reports, 20-year-old Brandon Simon and 21-year-old Travis Calhoun were arrested Tuesday on suspicion of breaking into the company's onetime Palo Alto headquarters and stealing 49 laptop computers.

Interestingly enough, Simon worked for a security company that patrolled Facebook's former corporate offices at 1050 Page Mill Road, according to the Chron.

Here's what happened: About 1:30 a.m. on Monday, police got a call from a private security guard reporting that two masked men had just broken into the headquarters. One of the burglars made eye contact with the guard on duty and then the two split with the laptops in tow.

The cops caught up to the suspect vehicle and found, among other things, burglary tools and "bins of laptop computers" that belonged to Facebook.

The company had moved its headquarters from Palo Alto to Menlo Park last year, and Simon was likely familiar with what the company had left behind.

Both men were charged with commercial burglary, grand

theft, possession of stolen property and conspiracy, all felonies. Simon

was also arrested on suspicion of embezzlement and resisting arrest.

Sub Pop recording artists 'clipping.' brought their brand of noise-driven experimental hip hop to the closing night of 2016's San Francisco Electronic Music Fest this past Sunday. The packed Brava Theater hosted an initially seated crowd that ended the night jumping and dancing against the front of the stage. The trio performed a set focused on their recently released Sci-Fi Horror concept album, 'Splendor & Misery', then delved into their dancier and more aggressive back catalogue, and recent single 'Wriggle'. Opening performances included local experimental electronic duo 'Tujurikkuja' and computer music artist 'Madalyn Merkey.'"
